M1.3 Ngdbuild of Pre-Unified Lib netlist - WARNING:basnu - logical block"XXX" of type "DFF" is unexpanded.

Record #2998

Product Family: Software

Product Line: Merged Core

Problem Title:
M1.3 Ngdbuild of Pre-Unified Lib netlist - WARNING:basnu - logical
block"XXX" of type "DFF" is unexpanded.

Problem Description:
The M1 tools will make an attempt to identify which
pre-unified library is in use by parsing the PART statement.
If the PART statement does not contain a valid M1 part (most
cases) the part statement will be ignored and the M1 tools
will not try to process the netlist as a pre-unified library.

Message indicating that PART statement is being ignored:
WARNING:basxn:67 - Line number 3: unsupported device
"4003APC84-6" in PART statement ignored.

Because the netlist is not being processed as a pre-unified
library netlist, some components will not be unexpanded.
The DFF symbol is a common example:
WARNING:basnu - logical block "$1I160/$1I29/$1I43/$1I10" of type "DFF" is unexpa
nded.

Solution 1:

Ngdbuild can be run with the switch "-l x4000" or "-l x3000"
to make the tools to consider the pre-unified libraries as
a possible source of components.

When using the Design Manager, the Template Manager can be
used to specify that this switch be used for ngdbuild.
