General Description:

When synthesizing an Abel module in Foundation, you may see a
series of the following warning in the Project Manager's
message log window during synthesis:

ref_2_inst:  dangling port


Solution 1:

These messages can safely be ignored.  Generally, there will
be one of these messages for each port in the Abel module.
Since the Abel file was compiled as a Macro and not as a Chip,
these ports are viewed as dangling, and thus the messages
result.
