Problem Title:
Can not open books in dynatext
Problem Description:
Keywords : Dynatext, Books, M1.3, Open
Urgency : Standard
Description : Some users may get error message "Can't open hardware debugger" or
similiar error messages on different books in dynatext. The installation is fin
e, and all the book titles appear in the dynatex window.
Solution 1:
This solution gives possible resolutions on when reading all the books from the
local hard drive (i.e. all the books are installed on C:\), or reading the books
from the CD.
If all the books are on the hard drive, the user can try the followings:
1. Check the message log under HELP->SHOW MESSAGE LOG in dynatext window, find o
ut what's causing the error (sometimes, the message log may not contain any erro
rs).
2. Locate and open the map.txt file under $XILINX\doc\usenglish\ents\map.txt
3. This file has only one line text. Modify the second part of the file from $(C
OLL)$(DS)style$(DS)no_table to
C:$(DS)xilinx$(DS)doc$(DS)usenglish$(DS)style$(DS)no_table.
If xilinx is installed on the D drive, change C: to D:
4. Save the new map.txt, and reopen the dtext.
5. If still can't open any books, find the STYLE directory under $XILINX\doc\use
nglish\ and copy this directory into every book which is under $XILINX\doc\useng
lish\books\. Rename newly copied STYLE to STYLES
6. Shut down dtext and reopen it.
7. If this still doesn't work, locate the file ebtcom.reg under $XILINX\BIN\NT.
8. Double click on ebtcom.reg to recreate the registry structure for dynatext.
Solution 2:
If the user is trying to read the books from the CD, first make sure the documen
tation CD is in the CD-ROM drive.
Make sure the environment setup includes
SET XILINX_CD=D: (this is the CD_ROM drive letter)
Repeat steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8 from resolution 1.
