XC9500: Miscellaneous programming questions

Record #3252

Product Family: Hardware

Product Line: 9500

Problem Title:
XC9500: Miscellaneous programming questions

Problem Description:
Keywords: xc9500, programming order, usercode, svf

Urgency: Standard

General Description:

Various questions regarding the programming order and usercode in the XC9500 CPL
Ds

Solution 1:

Is there a specific `BIT' order in which the XC9500 parts are programmed? For E
xample,
are the Global Set/Reset lines programmed first?

There is no specific order to programming the functional elements in the device.
 The part
is programmed as a whole, function block by function block.

Solution 2:

Where is the USERCODE written in the bitmap and can I write a usercode directly
 to the
CPLD without using the JEDEC bitmap?

The USERCODE bits are distributed all around the array as individual bits in spe
cific
programming locations. Currently, there is no way of writing the USERCODE withou
t
using the JEDEC bitmap, as the USERCODE gets written in to the JEDEC file during

the BITSTREAM state in the Flow Engine.
