FPGA Express 2.0: Errors/Warnings/Messages window does not always work correctly

Record #3300

Product Family: Software

Product Line: Synopsys

Problem Title:
FPGA Express 2.0: Errors/Warnings/Messages window does not always work
correctly

Problem Description:
Keywords: FPGA Express, Foundation Express, GUI, Error, Warning, Message

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
The Errors/Warnings/Messages portion of the Alliance version (shipped by
Synopsys, not Xilinx) of the FPGA Express 2.0 GUI does not work as smoothly
as possible. After selecting an Implementation or Optimization of a design,
the scroll bars may not work correctly. Also, the window does not always
refresh properly.

Solution 1:

In order to use the scroll bars in the Errors, Warnings, or Messages screens,
you must first click on each of the three tabs. After they have all been
'touched', then they will work correctly.

Also, this issue can be solved by installing Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0.
You do no actually have to use this software to fix the problem (you can even
un-install it immediately). The installation of Internet Explorer will update
certain DLL files in the Windows directory, and these files are not removed
by the un-install.

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/ie/ie40Internet Link/ to install Internet Explorer 4.0.
