General Description:

When implementing a design with a ucf file the following error may occur in M1.3
/1.4 while running ngdbuild .

In PC
ERROR: basnb:83 invalid file argument "Testuc.UCF". Please ensure that correct f
ilename extension has been used with the corresponding option switch. For exampl
e, the file specified with the "-uc" switch must have a .ucf extension.

In WS
ERROR:basut - Argument "testuc.UCF" has an invalid extension.  The valid
   extension is ".ucf".  If your file name has more than one "." in it you must
   explicitly enter the full file name with its extension.


Solution 1:

CR #102683 is filed for this problem. The work around is to use lowercase for th
e file extension.
