Record #3562
Product Family: Software
Product Line: Data I/O
Problem Title:
Foundation F1.3/F1.4, XABEL: Xabel.exe not found
Problem Description:
Keywords: Xabel, abel, xabel.exe, not, found
Urgency: Standard
When attempting to synthesize an ABEL design, you may receive
an error saying that XABEL.EXE is not found. Upon checking
in the $XILINX\BIN\NT directory, XABEL.EXE is indeed there.
Solution 1:
This problem may be caused by an invalid registry path entry.
(Whenever modifying the Registry through the Registry Editor,
it is a good idea to back up the Registry first through the
Registry Editor.)
1. Invoke regedit.exe (under Windows directory).
2. Select Edit->Find, and search for DIOEDA.
3. You should find a subdirectory entitled "Products".
4. Under this there will be a subdirectory with the title
of the xabel tool you are using, in the case of M1 it
will be "XABELM1".
(If you have more than one ABEL product listed, this may
indicate another problem. See (Xilinx Solution 2662).
5. Under "XABELM1" go to Paths -> Bin and you should see the
default path in the righthand window. Double click on
"Default". The path should be set to $XILINX\BIN\NT. If
this is not set properly, correct it and reboot the system.
