WVO 7.4: LogiBLOX library file for VHDL simulation with Workview Office 7.4

Record #3598

Product Family: Software

Product Line: ViewLogic

Problem Title:
WVO 7.4: LogiBLOX library file for VHDL simulation with Workview Office
7.4

Problem Description:
Keywords: Workview Office 7.4, LogiBLOX, library, vsslib, time stamp

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
When using LogiBLOX with WVO 7.4 and selecting 'Behavorial VHDL netlist', a
LogiBLOX library is needed in the vsslib.ini. This library can be either
downloaded or created by the user.

Note: When upgrading from older versions of WVO software, the user will get
an error concerning a time stamp violation. If this happens, the user should
either recreate the LogiBLOX library or download the one below.

Solution 1:

The library is available for download at ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/swhelp/logibloInternet Link
x.zip

Unzip this file to any directory you choose. Make sure to keep the directory
structure. Point to this library in the HDLMananger and save the HDL
workspace. A vsslib.ini with the correct library paths will be created.

Solution 2:

To create the library yourself, preform the following steps.

1) Open the project you wish to work with in the Project Manager.
2) Open Speed Wave.
3) Select File->Analyze VHDL design
4) In the HDLManager that starts, select File->Create User Library...
5) In the Create User Library Name window, type 'logiblox' for the Symbolic Name
and point to the directory where you want to save the library in the Library Pa
th.
6) Logiblox will appear in the left hand window of the HDLManager. Highlight th
e library by clicking on it.
7) Assign the source file by selecting File->Assign Source Files...
8) Change to the %XILINX%/VHDL/SRC/LOGIBLOX/ directory. Select the files mvluti
l.vhd, mvlarith.vhd and logiblox.vhd then click OK.
9) The source files will now appear in the left hand window of the HDLManager un
der the Logiblox library.
10) The next step is to analyze each of these files. (NOTE: THE ORDER YOU ANALY
ZE THE FILES IS IMPORTANT)
11) Highlight mvlutil.vhd by clicking on it. Select Analyze->Analyze Source Fil
e.
12) Highlight mvlarith.vhd by clicking on it a repeat the analyze step above.
13) Repeat the above step for logiblox.hdl.

The logiblox library has now been created. You can save the HDLManager to creat
e the vsslib.ini file.	For future designs, you need only to add the logiblox li
brary that was just created to use it.
