General Description:
When starting a Workview Office application, the following message appears:

"Vsec: Error 8030: Required License Not Found"

The license.dat file does exist in the WVOFFICE\standard directory and the
LM_LICENSE_FILE correctly points to this license.dat.


Solution 1:

Check to make sure this file has been saved in DOS format. A quick way to
check is to click on the Workview Office Icon, and select "About Workview
Office".  Next, click on the "Tech Support" button, and then click on the line
"<drive>:\WVOFFICE\standard\license.dat" in the License File Search Order box.

If control characters appear in the editor box on the right hand side, and/or
if the license occupies only two lines and extends far to the right, the
license has been saved in Unix format rather than DOS. Open the file with an
editor such as Wordpad, and then save it as a text document.

If the WVOFFICE\standard\license.dat line in the License File Search Order box

is selected and the editor box has the message "Unable to open license file",
the license file is not installed in the proper directory or the
LM_LICENSE_FILE variable is not pointing to it.

If the hardware key serial number does not appear in the Host ID box,
and instead this box says "unknown", then the hardware key is not attached.
