V1.4 COREGEN, VIEWLOGIC: "The VLLINK.BAT file has a line that is longerthan 254 characters."

Record #3695

Product Family: Software

Product Line: Coregen

Problem Title:
V1.4 COREGEN, VIEWLOGIC: "The VLLINK.BAT file has a line that is
longerthan 254 characters."

Problem Description:
Keywords: coregen, vllink.bat, path, 254

Urgency: standard

General Description:
CORE Generator issues a warning:
"The VLLINK.BAT file has a line that is longer than 254
characters. It may not execute properly on your machine."

Solution 1:

This message applies only to Viewlogic users:

The VLLINK.BAT file is used to generate a Viewlogic Symbol and
Simulation file for a CORE, and will not run properly if one
of the command lines in this batch file is longer than 254 characters.	Usually
the problem is caused by long path
names in the VLLINK.BAT batch file associated with a long
path to the COREGen installation.

If you are designing with Viewlogic, you must re-install the
CORE Generator in a directory "closer" to the root directory
(embedded less deeply in your directory tree),
and/or use shorter directory names to stay within the 254
character limit. (Note that the main command line in the
VLLINK.BAT batch file references your install directory three
times in one of its command lines.)

You can usually stay within this command line length
limitation if the path to the COREGen install directory
consists of no more than 28 characters, including '\'
characters.
