General Description:
The server is part of a network, but also uses a modem to access an ISP (Interne
t Service Provider) for internet access.
The license server will not serve the license unless the modem
is connected to the ISP. The network has TCP/IP running.
The following are possible symptoms of this issue:

Win NT produces an error:
The DHCP client could not obtain an IP address

When running the M1 tools, you get a security error:
Error: basse - Unable to lock license for map: Invalid returned
data from license server (-12,122).


Solution 1:

The problem is that the license server is looking for the
server, based on it's IP address. The network is configured to
accept IP addresses dynamically from the ISP. Therefore the IP
addresses for the network are only available when connected to
the ISP.
The only options:
1. provide a specific IP address for TCP/IP via the:
 control panels - network - tcp/ip - properties
2. use node locked licenses.
