Problem Title:
M1.4: Prom File Formatter uses different format for byte-wide prom sizes
Problem Description:
Keywords: prom file formatter, byte wide, proms
Urgency: Standard
General Description: The prom file formatter appears to select the wrong size
byte wide prom when 'Automatic Selection' is checked.
Solution 1:
When selecting a byte wide prom, the prom file formatter appears to select the
wrong size prom. The reason it appears incorrect is because the prom file
formatter measures byte size proms in bytes instead of bits.
For example:
Prom size Prom File Formatter Prom marking
--------- -------------------- -------------
64 kbytes 8k*8[64k] 64k*8[512k]
this is 64kbytes this is 512k bits = 64kbytes
The prom file that is produced will program a byte wide prom labeled 64k*8.
However, DO NOT buy a prom labeled 8k*8[64k] because the prom will be too small.
