Gordon M. Steel
Chief Financial Officer Mr. Steel joined Xilinx in September 1987 and serves as the Company's senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer. He oversees all aspects of the Company's financial operations including: financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, tax, investor relations, and facilities. Mr. Steel was instrumental in growing Xilinx from a small startup with revenues of less than $10 million to the leading supplier of programmable logic with FY97 revenues of $568 million. In addition to taking Xilinx public in June 1990, Steel has been instrumental in acquisitions, a stock split, and a convertible notes offering. Under Steel's management, Xilinx has been named the best financially managed company among fabless semiconductor companies by Instat, a market research firm, an unprecedented five times since its IPO in 1990. Mr. Steel holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Pomona College and an MBA from Stanford. |
