David Bennett has more than 16 years of experience in software engineering and management. Before joining Xilinx as vice president, software engineering, he was founder and vice president of engineering for NeoCAD, an industry-leading software company for programmable logic.

Prior to that, he was director of CAD/CAM technology at Daisy/Cadnetix. While at Cadnetix, he was instrumental in the development of many of the company's leading CAD products. Bennett also worked in software development at Prolink Corporation and at Northern Telecom. 

Bennett attended Western Michigan University.
