Randy Ong, vice president of worldwide operations, has overall responsibility for manufacturing, quality assurance, testing, reliability and package development for Xilinx programmable logic devices. He also oversees strategic management of the company's semiconductor foundry partners. 

Ong joined Xilinx in 1990 and most recently served as senior director of product development for the company's XC2000, XC3000 and XC4000 families of field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). Earlier, he held product development positions with ASPEN Semiconductor, Advanced Micro Devices and Fairchild Semiconductor. 

He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
