The availability of high performance programmable DSP solutions will start to change the way products are design. In addition to traditional paradigm of designing a new hardware solution for each new product, now a general purpose DSP platform can be deployed. New product to meet emerging standards will be implemented by sending software and FPGA configuration files over a network.
Product life cycles will stop shrinking because the same hardware can be used over and over.
Internet Reconfigurable Logic, IRL, is a new application space for programmable logic. IRL leverages an exploding marketplace supported by pervasive networking, powerful Java based APIs, and Xilinx programmable devices to provide flexible and cost effective solutions.
