Subject: Product Discontinuance Notification (PDN97004) -- Withdrawal of Commercial and Industrial XC3100A-5 Speed Grades, all packages (note: Xilinx Military Products are Not Affected).

Products Affected: All XC3100A-5 commercial and industrial grade products, all package combinations (excluding military).

Change Description: Product families XC3100A-4 in commercial and industrial grades are replacing all XC3000A-5 product families, as the current production of XC3100A-4 meets all the data sheet parameters of the XC3100A-5.

Reason For Change: To provide to our customers a simplification of Xilinx speedgrade offerings.

Action Requires: None, replacement product families XC3100A-4 are form, fit and functionally compatible with these products and meet or exceed all of the applicable specifications. Customers with questions concerning the compatibility of XC3100A-4 products with their existing applications should contact their Xilinx representative.

Key Dates:

Final XC3100A-5 orders accepted until 1/31/1998.
Final XC3100A-5 deliveries on or before 4/30/1998.
