Subject: Product Discontinuation Notification (PDN99007A) Update - Withdrawal of certain commercial low volume device/package combinations (see chart below). All speed grades and all temperature grades are affected. Note however, that no Xilinx Military product offerings are affected. 

Addendum: Due to the discontinuation of the PP132 and PP175 package by the package piece parts vendor, it has become necessary for Xilinx to pull in the last time buy (LTB) and last time ship (LTS) dates for certain parts previously announced in PDN99007. Those selected parts are indicated in bold and underlined below. For those products in the PP132 and PP175 package only, the LTB date will be 30 September 2000 and LTS date will be 31 December 2000. Xilinx apologizes for this situation, which is beyond our control.

Change Description: Xilinx is discontinuing the above product/package combinations (all speed and temperature grades) and providing our customers with two years notification to plan for the obsolescence and/or replacement of these package/ product combinations. This is believed to be the most customer responsive discontinuation policy in the industry.

Reason For Change: The above product/package combinations have declined in customer usage to the point where continued manufacturing is becoming no longer economical. In order to continue Xilinx evolutionary process of cost reductions it is necessary to discontinue these product/package combinations.

Action Required: Assistance in planning for replacement of the above product/package combinations is available. Please contact your Xilinx sales representative for more information.

Key Dates:
     Final orders accepted until 15 October 2001, except for the PP132 and PP175 
     Final deliveries on or before 15 January 2002, except for the PP132 and PP175 

     For PP132 and PP175 Only:
     Final orders accepted until 30 September 2000
     Final deliveries on or before 31 December 2000
