XILINX ANNOUNCES MAJOR EXPANSION IN IRELAND Dublin site to be one of several sites focusing on strategic products SAN JOSE, California, February 14, 2001— Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) today announced it plans to more than double the size of its existing facility in Ireland. The $50 million expansion project will add 128,000 square feet of space to the current facility in Dublin. After construction is completed in about a year, Xilinx will have room for 500 more employees there. The company now employs 360 people in Ireland. “This new expansion marks a logical progression for us since we opened our Dublin site six years ago,” said Xilinx CEO Wim Roelandts. “In Ireland we’ve made significant achievements in research and development, hardware and software design, supply chain management and design services. Xilinx Ireland also serves as our European center for administrative functions such as information technology and human resources.” The construction in Ireland is part of the company’s on-going expansion worldwide to plan for a quickly growing workforce. In the last year the number of employees at Xilinx has increased by one-third to 2,600. Xilinx is the leading innovator of complete programmable logic solutions,
