SAN JOSE, Calif., August 23, 1999—Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) today announced a strategic partnership agreement with Memec Design Services (MDS) to provide specialized design services and support for the industry leading Xilinx PCI solutions. Memec operates design centers around the globe and is a member of the Xilinx XPERTS network of consulting firms. Under the terms of the agreement, MDS purchased several licenses of PCI source code and test benches for the Xilinx PCI LogiCORE products from Xilinx. MDS has rights to provide customization and integration services for the full spectrum of Xilinx PCI LogiCORE solutions. Through the agreement, MDS will provide five days of free design services for the new Real PCI 64/66 customers and three days of free design services for customer purchasing the popular PCI 32bit/33 MHz design kit. New PCI customers can use this unique offer for personalized PCI training, and experienced PCI users can apply it toward integration and customization services. We are backing this effort with a team of more than 30 certified engineers in North America." The services from MDS are offered any time Xilinx PCI products are purchased from Insight Electronics. Xilinx has licensed its PCI LogiCORE solutions to more than 500 customers worldwide since the product was introduced in 1996. A license allows customers to use the core in an unlimited number of individual product designs. More than 50 customers already have licensed the latest Real PCI 64/66 LogiCORE solutions for fully compliant 64-bit, 66 MHz PCI applications in Xilinx Virtex FPGAs since the core was introduced in March.
