Subject: Product Change Notification (PCN00002). "A change
in the assembly and test flows used to manufacture the Xilinx CoolRunner
(C-grade and I-grade) product families".
Products Affected: All CoolRunner product
Change Description: The CoolRunner products will move
from the Philips assembly and test flows to the Xilinx assembly and test
flows. These assembly and test flows will reside at qualified Xilinx and
subcontractor sites and use qualified material sets (die attach epoxies,
wire bond processes, mold compounds, etc.). A change in part number will
occur. Wafer production will continue at the same wafer manufacturing sources,
using the same mask sets and probe test programs as used by Philips, so
there will be no change in the form, fit or function of the CoolRunner
devices.
Qualification Data: Qualification data for the various
assembly options can be found in the Xilinx quarterly reliability report
at: "http://www.xilinx.com/products/qa_data/relreprt.pdf."
Reason For Change: Xilinx purchased the CoolRunner line
from Philips in August 1999 and is moving production of this product line
into the Xilinx assembly and test flows. This will require a change in
the nomenclature of the devices, and hence in the ordering codes used to
procure these devices. A complete cross index of part numbers is available
on the Xilinx web site at "http://www.xilinx.com/products/coolpld/xref.htm."
Note added on 03/20/2000: The cross-reference list previously included
with this PCN (PCN00002) has been updated by PCN00002A.
Both the
new cross-reference list and the old
cross-reference list can be referenced. Be aware that assembly
locations on the old list may not be accurate.
Key Dates: Xilinx has begun shipping CoolRunner devices
with the Xilinx designations. Product may be ordered with the Philips assembly
and test flows (and part markings) until:
All parts except P3Z22V10 and P5Z22V10
