Product Change Notification PCN95002

6, April 1995

Subject: Process Update Notification (PCN95002). "An Evolutionary Change in the Xilinx XC4000 Fabrication Process."

Products Affected: XC4005, XC4010 and XC4013 products manufactured at Seiko.

Change Description: The above products are currently manufactured in 0.8µM two-metal CMOS process at Seiko and a 0.65µM two-metal CMOS process at Yamaha (see Xilinx PCN #94002).

Product Change: Xilinx plans to produce referenced members of the XC4000 family in the 0.6µM two-metal CMOS process currently available and qualified at Seiko.

Reason For Change: This change is being made both to increase the availability of higher speed grades of these products, and to continue the Xilinx program of evolutionary price reductions.

Qualification Data: Device qualification data on the XC4005, XC4010 and XC4013, along with process qualification data from Seiko is attached to this notice. Additional data on other family members will be released as it becomes available. This change will not affect the functionality of these products.

Traceability: The product marking code can be used to determine the mask generation of a particular product. Product fabricated in the Seiko 0.6µM two-metal CMOS process carries the geometry code "J". Please contact your sales representative if you wish a copy of IVC0015, which lists these production codes.

Key Dates: Qualification samples of the XC4005, XC4010, and XC4013 manufactured with this process are available today. The dates for last buy and last guaranteed availability of the older Seiko product (0.8µM) are 90 days and 180 days respectively after receipt of this notice.

Response: No response to this notification is required. Requests for additional data or support should be made within 90 days of notification. Note that additional devices have been added to the above listing subsequent to the publishing of this PCN and are noted in PCN95002A and PCN95002B. Please address any questions you may have via email to "pcn@xilinx.com" or directly by fax at 408 559 1368.
