Subject: Product Change Notification (PCN96011). "An Evolutionary Change in the Xilinx XC5200 Fabrication Process."

Products Affected: All XC5200 Products

Change Description: The above products are currently manufactured in the 0.6µM TLM CMOS process at Seiko.

Product Change: Xilinx plans to produce the XC5200 family in the 0.5µM three-metal CMOS process currently available and qualified at Seiko and used in production for the XC4000 and XC4000E product families.

Reason For Change: This change is being made to continue the Xilinx program of evolutionary price reductions.

Qualification Data: Device qualification data on specific members of the XC5200 family is attached.

Traceability: The product marking code (which is part of the top mark of the product) can be used to determine the mask generation of a particular device. Product fabricated in the Seiko 0.5µM three-metal CMOS process will carry the geometry code "M".

Key Dates: Qualification samples of XC5200 product manufactured with this process are available today. Contact your Xilinx sales representative for information on how to order. The dates for Last Time Buy (LTB) and Last Time Ship (LTS) of the older generation products are 30 July, 1997 and 30 December 1997 respectively.
