Product Discontinuation Notice PDN98005

Attention: Valued Customer,
Subject: Product Discontinuation Notification (PDN98005). "Discontinuation
of the XC3100A M-grade and B-grade (SMD) Products (note: this notice does
not affect the commercial and industrial grades of the XC3100A)"
Products Affected: All XC3100A M-grade and B-grade SMD (Standard
Military Drawing) Products are as follows: XC3142A, 5962-95610,
XC3190A, 5962-95611 and XC3195A, 5962-95612
Change Description: The M-grade and B-grade members of the above
product family are being discontinued (all package and speed grades). This
does not affect Xilinx offering of the C-grade and I-grade versions
of the XC3100A family.
Reason For Change: Low customer demand for the M-grade and B-grade
versions of the XC3100A family has not merited continued support. This
discontinuation affects only certain low volume products in the Xilinx
Military and Aerospace product line. Xilinx has recently received full
QML certification and remains fully committed to the market as is
evidenced by the recent introduction of the XQ4000X family, which are recommended
replacements for the discontinued products. Support will continue for the
XC3000 and XC4000 Military and Aerospace lines.
Key Dates: Last date to order any M-grade or B-grade versions
of the XC3100A family is 1 July 2000, with final delivery on or before
1 October 2000. This allows more than two years to plan for this product
obsolescence.
Response: No response to this notification is required. Requests
for additional data or support should be made within 90 days of notification.
