Product Discontinuation Notice PDN98006

Attention: Valued Customer,
Subject: Product Discontinuation Notification (PDN98006). "Discontinuation
of the XC4003A M-grade and B-grade (SMD) Products (note: this notice does
not affect the commercial and industrial grades of the XC4003A or
any other member of the XC4000 Family)
Products Affected: The XC4003A M-grade and B-grade (Standard
Military Drawing 5962-94712) Products in the PG120 and CB100
package only.
Change Description: The M-grade and B-grade versions of the above
product are being discontinued (all package and speed grades). This does
not affect Xilinx offering of the C-grade and I-grade versions of
the XC4003A.
Reason For Change: Low customer demand for the M-grade and B-grade
versions of the XC4003A has not merited continued support. This discontinuation
affects this low volume product in the Xilinx Military and Aerospace product
line only. Xilinx has recently received full QML certification and remains
fully committed to the market as is evidenced by the recent introduction
of the XQ4000X family, which are recommended replacements for the discontinued
products. Support will continue for the XC3000 and the balance of the XC4000
Military and Aerospace lines.
Key Dates: Last date to order any of the above products is 1
July 2000 with final delivery on or before 1 October 2000. This allows
more than two years to plan for this product obsolescence.
Response: No response to this notification is required. Requests
for additional data or support should be made within 90 days of notification.
