Q:
Will the Minc/Synario/ABEL product technologies be integrated into the
Xilinx design solutions?
A:
Xilinx has already released new products with these technologies integrated
into the Xilinx Software Solutions. For more information see WebPACK.
Q:
Will Xilinx sell MINC+Synario products?
A:
Xilinx has discontinued selling Minc/Synario/ABEL
products as they existed prior to the acquisition. NOTE:
No new device support nor updates will be supplied by Xilinx for these
products.
Q:
What happens if I own an OEM version of a MINC+Synario product?
A:
Customers should continue to work directly with the original providers
of their OEM technology. All future updates, customer support and
product road maps will be provided by your original technology provider.
Q:
I own a copy of the schematic capture tool
ECS (Engineering Capture System). What are the plans for this tool?
A:
Xilinx has licensed this technology to Cohesion
Systems. They are actively supporting this tool and have taken over
the maintenance contracts.
Q: Can
I still use ABEL for devices other than Xilinx?
A: Version
7.0 of ABEL contains traditional device support. Vendor independent device
support going forward has yet to be determined.
Xilinx has released version 7.3 of ABEL for Xilinx devices and it is available
today as a FREE downloadable tool. For more information on ABEL

Q:
How long will Xilinx continue to offer technical
support for the Minc/Synario/ABEL
products
as they existed before the acquisition?
A:
Xilinx will no longer provide technical
support. As of January 1, 2000, MINC+Synario product technical support
was discontinued.
