XILINX WINS PATENT CASE AGAINST ALTERA Company seeks injunction against all shipments of infringing
Altera products SAN JOSE, Calif., November 17, 2000 -Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) today announced that it will seek an immediate injunction against Altera Corporation to stop all shipments of Altera Flex product and its derivative programmable logic devices that infringe two Xilinx patents. The action by Xilinx followed a decision earlier today by a federal jury, which found that Altera infringes patents owned by Xilinx. A trial for monetary damages will take place at a later time. Xilinx originally filed the case in 1993. The case finally went to trial October 5, 2000, in Federal District Court in San Jose, California.
