_N_A_M_E
          apropos        Search command database for a pattern.


SYNTAX
          string apropos [-symbols_only] [_p_a_t_t_e_r_n]

          string    _p_a_t_t_e_r_n


ARGUMENTS
          -symbols_only  Search command/option names only.  This
                         option prevents apropos from searching
                         the command descriptions for the
                         patterns.


          _p_a_t_t_e_r_n        Search for pattern pattern is the string
                         to be searched in the command database




DESCRIPTION
          This command lists commands and their one line
          descriptions that match a specified pattern. apropos is
          useful when you can remember only part of a command
          name or description and want to search through the
          database for matching lines.


EXAMPLES
          fe_shell > apropos set_input
           set_input_delay      # Set the input delay for a port

          fe_shell > apropos -symbols_only which
           which                # Locate a file, and display its
          pathname.
