This file contains information regarding the utility programs that are 
on the Route 56 Developer's Toolkit.

Section 1.0 SSDR56.EXE

The program SSDR56 is a diagnostic program that will verify hardware settings
and allow low level features of the Route 56 card to be tested individually.
The SSDR56 command line syntax will be displayed by typing SSDR56<Enter>.
This program will test the following features of the card:

- On board Status / Control port
- On board memory bank
- IUSC Initialization and internal register integrity
- Internal polled IUSC loop-back
- External polled IUSC loop-back (Loop back plug needed)
- Internal interrupt driven IUSC loop-back
- Internal DMA IUSC loop-back
- Terminal mode
- Modem control signal and interface status

This program will allow the electrical interface to be selected via the menu for 
testing modem control signals. 

NOTE: To perform an external loop-back test or to test modem control signals, 
you must first select an electrical interface via the Modem Control Signal Test 
menu (5).
