**Obsolete Solution**: HW-120 : Unable to find programmer, stuck in "Waiting for CTS" or "downloading" mode
Record #231
Product Part: HW-120 Urgency: Standard General Description: (Reason for obsoleting - obsolete programmer) Symptoms of communications problems are: 1) The PROLINK software is unable to find the programmer. 2) While downloading an algorithm or PRG file, PROLINK reports "Waiting for CTS" or "Downloading" for an indefinite period of time. Solution 1: The programmer may be unable to reliably communicate with certain host PC serial ports at 19200 baud. This problem can be resolved by reducing the baud rate at which the HW-120 communicates with the PC host. To change the baud rate, press the NEXT key once. Then use the F2/F3 keys to lower/raise the baud rate. When the desired baud rate has been selected, press the NEXT key to save. If 9600 baud does not work, try 4800 baud. Again, make sure the correct baud rate is set in Prolink by selecting Utilities->Programmer Setup. Solution 2: The maximum baud rate that the HW-120 can operate at is 19200 baud. Also note that the baud rate setting in Prolink must be the same as the baud rate setting on the HW-120. A mismatch between the two may cause this problem. Make sure the correct baud rate is set properly in Prolink by selecting Utilities->Programmer Setup. End of Record #231 - Last Modified: 07/29/99 17:21 |
