XPP 5.0.0: -d option programs proms incorrectly if .bit file is split across multiple proms

Record #267

Product Family: Software

Product Line: XACT FPGA

Product Part: xpp

Product Version: 5.0

Problem Title:
XPP 5.0.0: -d option programs proms incorrectly if .bit file is split across multiple proms

Problem Description:
XPP -d option programs file split across proms incorrectly

Reference #: 17574

Solution 1:

XPP may not program a prom correctly if the following combination of
conditions exist at the same time:

  - XPP is started with the -d option to specify the device type,
  - no xpp.pro file is present,
  - the .bit file is part of a set of bitstreams that have been split across multiple
     proms.

When this occurs, XPP sends the wrong number of bits to the
proms, and the programmed prom devices will contain only a
partial bitstream.

There are two workarounds. One is to manually create an xpp.pro file in the local directory and restart XPP. The other is to not use the -d option to specify
the device type--use the configuration menus within XPP instead.

The problem is fixed in XPP 5.1.0.
