General Description:
In Mentor Graphics 8.x, the function keys are used to give quick access to
certain functions. The F1 key, for example, executes an Open Sheet command
in Design Architect. However, some users may find that the F1 key always
gives them Sun Help, instead of executing the proper Mentor command. By
default, the F1 key is bound to Help on Sun workstations.
Solution 1:
To remedy the problem, edit the file $HOME/.xinitrc and comment out the line
that reads:
xmodmap -e 'keysym F1 = Help'
Re-run the $HOME/.xinitrc script, then restart Mentor; you should find the
F1 key now functions correctly.
