PPR 5.1, XC3000A: PPR Routes 3000A Pip in the Wrong Direction

Record #514

Product Family: Software

Product Line: XACT FPGA

Product Part: ppr

Product Version: 5.1

Problem Title:
PPR 5.1, XC3000A: PPR Routes 3000A Pip in the Wrong Direction

Problem Description:
Urgency: standard

General Description:

DRC Reports: No Sources reachable from programmed pip
col.A.local.11:row.A.long.2

PPR routes a PIP in the wrong direction. The report file shows 0 unroutes,
but the Design Rules Check (DRC) run by XDE or MakeBits gives ther error
message listed above.

This is caused by a bug in PPR 5.1.

Solution 1:

All PPR 5.1 users should upgrade to either the latest XACT release (PPR 5.2.1), or use the M1 toolset, where this bug does not exist. If this is not feasible, then the following is
  a workaround:

Use XDE or unroute and then re-route that net, or rerun PPR with a different
seed and it shouldn't repeat the error. Be sure to always run DRC to check
for this problem.
