PROTEL: Not annotating design produces XNFPREP ERROR 3517

Problem Title: PROGRAM: Protel VERSION: Any PLATFORM(s): PC SHORT DESCRIPTION: XNFPREP issues error 3517 on Protel design due to not annotating the design ERROR MESSAGE: XNFPREP: ERROR 3517: The following symbol names contain invalid characters: Symbol Name ----------- BX? The legal characters are: alphanumeric characters, $, -, _, <, >, and /. The names must contain at least one non-digit character. They may start with any legal character. LONG DESCRIPTION: PROBLEM: XNFPREP ERROR 3517 occurs on PROTEL design. CAUSE: This error occurs when the user fails to annotate his design in the PROTEL environment before exporting the netlist. SOLUTION: Select File -> Annotate... and select Re-Designate ? Parts. Then click on OK and export the netlist again. End of Record #571 - Last Modified: 03/07/97 08:20 |
