PROLINK 5.0: 'Device Select' option can't find device family (missing library)

Record #574

Problem Title:
PROLINK 5.0: 'Device Select' option can't find device family (missing library)

Problem Description:

Solution 1:

PROGRAM: Prolink

VERSION: 5.0

PLATFORM(s): PC

SHORT DESCRIPTION:

Prolink can't find the device family in Device Select option due to
missing library in the specified path.

ERROR MESSAGE: n/a

LONG DESCRIPTION:

PROBLEM:

When using the Device Select option, users are unable to select a device
family.

CAUSE:

Prolink was not installed properly from Pro_v5.zip although the user ran
install on the floppy. There are several of .OVR files in the directory ,
which are archive files. This is caused by invoking install from a hard disk
directory. For example: you are in c:\ and type a:\install. The program will
think the source files are in the directory where the invocation of install
took place.

SOLUTION:

User must cd to the floppy drive before running install. Including
the drive letter in command line will not allow the install program to
execute properly.
