SPROMS: Markings: XC1700 Ordering ID (part number) and PROM Marking ID are different for the same part
Record #674
Product Family: Hardware Urgency: Standard General Description: Ordering ID's and marking ID's are different for the same PROM device. so the designation you use to order a part will not match the marking on the actual part. Marking ID's exist because the complete PROM ordering ID cannot fit on the small PROM packages and still be readable. A Marking ID is basically an abbreviated version of the Ordering ID that is designed to address this problem. Solution 1: Refer to the latest release of the Xilinx Databook for an explanation of the Ordering ID and Marking ID for PROMs under the Prom Sections.
