Problem Description:
XACTstep 6.0 may issue the following message during a Windows Install:
"Win32s requires file sharing and locking support. Please execute share.exe before continuing"
Solution 1:
The install is actually looking for VSHARE.386. To install this, copy the file
D:\PROSER\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VSHARE.386 to your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory (assuming
that D is your CD drive) and then add the following line under the [386Enh] header in your
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI file:
device=vshare.386
Restart Windows and you should be all set to continue the install.
