A Possible Solution for the 'Smalltalk Error' when Design Manager 6.0 is Invoked
Problem Description:
Customer has installed the Design Manager 6.0. The files and
buffers are all within spec. No 32-bit features are turned
on. The customer has more than enough memory.
Despite all of the 'right' configuration settings, when the
Design Manager is invoked, a 'smalltalk' error is reported;
No design can be compiled from Windows.
Solution 1:
CAUSE:
Not enough GDI resources.
SOLUTION:
lower the resolution of the Video Card
What ever the exisiting resolution is, continue to
lower the resolution until the smalltalk error goes away.
Solution 2:
CAUSE:
Not enough GDI reources
SOLUTION:
Use a video driver that uses fewer GDI resources, like the Windows
VGA driver.
Solution 3:
CAUSE:
Not enough GDI resources
SOLUTION:
Lower the number of colors displayed by the Video Card
