Problem Title:
Design Manager 6.0 Smalltalk Error

Problem Description:
All XACT 6 environment variables, like FILES, BUFFERS, STACKS, conv memory, 32-bit access off etc.
are correct, but when the Design Manager is invoked, Windows reports a 'Smalltalk' error; After repo
rting the smalltalk error, the Design Manager closes itself down.

Solution 1:

CAUSE:
Corrupt files on the harddrive or failures with the harddrive
can prevent proper execution of the programs.

RESOLUTION:
Delete the XACT software from the harddrive. Perform
a scandisk to clean the drive. Reinstall the XACT software
and perform another scandisk to ensure the integrity of
the files on the harddrive.

Solution 2:

CAUSE:
Video card/driver is set to display a 'large' number of colors, like 16 million, which will consume memory that is needed by the Design Manager or Windows.

RESOLUTION:
Change the number of colors used to a lower value. For example, this error can usually be produced if 16 million color mode is used, switching to a lower number of colors like 256 will fix the smallt alk error and the Design Manger will start up.

Solution 3:

CAUSE:
The use of a memory manager, such as QEMM, causes conflicts.

RESOLUTION:
Attempt changing the settings for the memory manager,
or disable it completely.
