XBLXGS 5.x fails on Solaris with "crt1:bad open" or "libbase: can't open file"

Record #895

Product Family: Software

Product Line: Mentor

Product Part: xblxgs

Product Version: 5.2

Problem Title:
XBLXGS 5.x fails on Solaris with "crt1:bad open" or "libbase: can't open file"

Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard

General Description:

XBLXGS will halt with an error similar to the following if run on a Solaris
machine:

    (Solaris 2.4)
    crt1:bad [02] open: /tools/mentor/lib/mgc_ld.so
    Abort - core dumped

    (Solaris 2.5)
    ld.so.1: (unknown): fatal: libbase_lib.so.14.0: can't open file: errno=2
    Killed

This is because XBLXGS was compiled native to SunOS.

Solution 1:

A Solaris-native version of XBLXGS does not currently exist. There is no
fix available at this time.

Since XBLXGS is part of the XBLOX simulation flow, you can work around the
problem by redrawing your schematic without XBLOX modules.
