If you are manually copying the files from CD ROM to install the XACT Step software on your PC, th
is error might show up.
Any or all of the files copied under XACT, PROSER, WINDOWS and WINDOWS\SYSTEM directories on the PC
might be corrupted.
Solution 1:

Compare the size of the installed files with that on CD ROM. If they are different,
re-copy those files from CD ROM onto your PC.
