Template Manager M1/XACT : How to specify options not available in the options menu of
Design Manager
Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard
GUI-based Design Manager interface and it is not available in the GUI
options menu, you may do so from the Template Manager. You can
create a custom template that can enable/disable any Xilinx core
tools option.
Solution 1:
Using M1 on PC or Workstation:
1. From the Utilities pull-down menu in the Design Manager,
select Template Manager.
2. Select your target Family and the type of template you would like
to create.
3. Select the New button and give your custom template a name.
4. Select your template from the Template window and press the
customize button.
5. Within the Custom Template Dialog Window, enter the program name in the
"Program Name" selection box and specify the desired option in the
"Program Options" selection box.
**Note: For a listing of all availible tool options, from a DOS or UNIX
command line execute the particular program with the
-help switch. For Example : par -help
6. Hit the Set Button on the Template Custom Options menu for
each option specified. Once all of the options are specified,
hit the OK button and exit the Template Manager by clicking
the Close button.
7. When implementing the design, select your newly created
template under Program Option Templates in the Options Dialog Box.
Solution 2:
Using XACT 6.0.X :
1. From the Utilities pull-down menu in the Design Manager,
select Template Manager.
2. Select the New button and give your custom template a name.
3. Select your template from the Template window and press the
customize button.
4. Within the Custom Template Dialog Window is where you can
specify your options. The syntax is <program> <option>.
For Example :
ppr estimate=true
ppr ignore_rlocs=true
**Note: For a listing of all availible tool options, from a DOS
command line execute the particular program with the
-helpall switch. For Example : ppr -helpall
5. Hit the OK button on the Custom Template Dialog window and
exit the Template Manager by clicking the Close button.
6. When implementing the design, select your newly created
template under Program Option Templates in the Options Dialog Box.
