Problem Title:
How to submit a file on the Xilinx Customer Upload area on our FTP site

Problem Description:
If a Xilinx Technical Support employee requests a file, you may deposit that file in a secured area on the Internet. This area is known as the Customer Download area of the Xilinx FTP. This is a "ge neric" procedure on how to upload a file to this area and this procedure may vary slightly depending
on the Internet software you are using.

Solution 1:

How to access the Upload to Xilinx Customer Upload Area via Netscape 3.0 :

*** Although it is possible to upload files using Netscape 3.0, it
is not suggested because of possible problems that may be
encountered. If you have other means to upload a file, it is
suggested to use them rather than Netscape.

1. Within Netscape, enter the following location :
     ftp://customer@ftp.xilinx.com/uploadInternet Link

2. You will then be prompted with a password window. Enter the
     following :

     User name : customer
     Password : xilinx

     Hit the OK button.

3. From the pull-down menues select, File --> Upload File.

3. Choose the file you wish to upload from your hard drive and
click the open button. The file should begin uploading.

Note: Netscape can not overwrite a file existing on the FTP site
with the same name and will issue a network error. Netscape
also seems to have problems with excessivcely large files.

Solution 2:

How to connect via an FTP client :

1. Connect to our FTP site using the following address :
    ftp.xilinx.com

A typical command-line for doing this is :

    open ftp.xilinx.com

2. Log onto the site using the following login :

    login : customer
    password : xilinx

3. Change directories to the upload directory.

A typical command-line for doing this is :

    cd upload

4. Upload the file to this directory. The exact procedure on doing
this is dependent on the FTP client you are using. Be sure that
you are in binary mode when transfering all files to this
    directory.

    A typical command-line is the following :

bin <--- To put in binary mode
put <filename> <--- <filename> is the file to be transferred
