XCHECKER SOFTWARE 5.2.1: What are the system memory requirement in order to run?

Problem Description:
What is the required minimum of free base RAM in order to run the
xchecker software?

Solution 1:

Xchecker reqires a minimum of 512kB of free base memory.

To check the amount of availible base memory type at a
DOS prompt:

mem

The output should similar to:

 Memory Type Total	Used Free
 ---------------- -------- -------- --------
 Conventional 640K 29K 611K
 Upper 107K 54K 52K
 Reserved 384K 384K 0K
 Extended (XMS) 31,637K 30,613K 1,024K
 ---------------- -------- -------- --------
 Total memory 32,768K 31,080K 1,688K

 Total under 1 MB 747K 83K 664K

Largest executable program size 611K (625,680 bytes)
Largest free upper memory block 52K (53,744 bytes)
MS-DOS is resident in the high memory area.

The amount of memory listed in the Conventional row, Free
colomn, should be greater than 512K. If this is not the case,
remove any unnecessary drivers, TSRs, and Envrionment variables
