** OBSOLETE ** ALPHA v3.0.x COREGEN, FOUNDATION F1.3: problems generating Foundation symbol in Windows 95 and NT
Record #2861
Product Family: Software ** OBSOLETE ** ALPHA v3.0.x COREGEN, FOUNDATION F1.3: problems generating Foundation symbol in Windows 95 and NT Problem Description: Urgency: standard General Description: The DSP Core Generator may not automatically generate a Foundation symbol when you set it to do so. Solution 1: On Windows 95: -------------- Make sure you have done the following: 1. From the DSP Core Generator, select the following as Output Options: - XNF Netlist, and - Foundation Symbol and generate all the needed modules. The Core Generator will generate an XNF file (Xilinx Netlist) and an XSF file (needed for symbol generation and functional simulation) in your COREGEN run directory. It will also copy it into your current Active Project directory, however it will not create the Symbol unless you have the Foundation Schematic Editor open prior to trying to generate the core. After the Core generation is complete, the last step is to run an "Update Libraries" step from the Foundation Schematic Editor GUI to update the list of library components in the editor. Solution 2: On Windows NT: -------------- Foundation symbol generation currently does not work on Windows NT. The workaround is to do an "Import Netlist" from the Schematic Editor "Hierarchy" menu, and select the XNF file corresponding to Coregen block. Note that bus pins are not supported with this procedure, so you must edit the symbol and convert the pins into bus pins. End of Record #2861 - Last Modified: 02/25/99 15:38 |
