M1 Map - ERROR - No more route-throughs available

Record #3083

Product Family: Software

Product Line: FPGA Implementation

Product Part: map

Product Version: 1.3.

Problem Title:
M1 Map - ERROR - No more route-throughs available

Problem Description:
This misleading error message from 4000e map is an indication that a BUFGP
has non-clock loads that it can't reach without inserting a route-through.
The known source of this problem is when the non-clock load is mapped to
a H-LUT and the BUFGP is located to one of the left side sites which can
only reach F and G LUTs directly. The router is forced to use an F or G
route-through to get to a C pin, then the HLUT. The reference to no route-
throughs being available is incorrect.

Solution 1:

The skew introduced by this problem can be avoided by FMAPing the
non-clock loads so that they do not get mapped to an HLUT.
