Record #3293

Product Family: Software

Product Line: FPGA Implementation

Product Part: map

Problem Title:
MAP terminates abnormally after successfully writing output files (.ncd and .mrp).

Problem Description:
Urgency: Standard

General Description: MAP terminates abnormally with an invalid page fault. No map report appears in
  the report browser but the
file map.mrp does exist and appears to be in good order.

This error occurs after map has written it's output files.
The crash is occuring as the application tries to free memory before shutting down.

Solution 1:

The Flow Engine can be re-started by using the
Setup -> Advanced menu to set the Implementation
State to Mapped, then selecting the Play button.

Solution 2:

In the Flow Engine setup->advanced menu, there is a way to change the Implemented state. Change this to Routed and hit OK.
then go back to the flow engine, step back to a completed MAP state and then hit run or step. This w ill take the design successfully into PAR.

NB. It is not possible to change the Implemented state to "mapped" directly. CR#102656
details this.
