General Description: Is there support for Xabel in the
Alliance software?
Solution 1:
Xilinx ABEL, a.k.a. DS-371, is a stand-alone ABEL compiler that
can target Xilinx FPGAs and CPLDs. Primarily used in
conjunction with a 3rd party schematic capture tools, like
Viewlogic or Orcad, this tool has been supported by Xilinx
through our Alliance program. An agreement was mutually
decided between Xilinx and Data I/O that the ABEL compiler is
to be best supported by the manufacturer. Therefore, Xilinx
has discontinued shipping and order entry for all variations of
the DS-371-xxy.
Xilinx continues to OEM and ship ABEL as part of the Foundation
Series software on the PC.
