General description:

When trying to read the Q1 1998 Applinx CD from a Solaris Workstation
typing ls -l may give results similar to the following:

acroread not found
docs not found
index.htm not found
mcpmat not found
program not found
qt not found
readme.txt not found
total 14043

Or access to parts of the CD are not valid.


Solution 1:

Although the readme file indicates that the CD can be used on
workstations, the CD was written in a Windows 95/NT specific format.
This means that the CD cannot be correctly read from a workstation.

This problem doesn't occur on Win95/NT PCs.

The workaround is to either copy CD contents to a networked drive using
a PC or to access our Web Site directly, and download the information
that you are interested in.
