Problem Title:
M1.4 Flexlm license manager: Auto-start does not work on Win95 PC
Problem Description:
Urgency: HOT
General Description:
On Windows 95, "automatic start of license manager" feature
does not work although you specified the correct paths for
lmgrd.exe, license.dat and checked the box "Start Server at
Power Up".
Solution 1:
On Windows 95, FLEXlm uses a registry feature that launches
programs automatically. The "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices" registry is used
to launch lmgrdw95.exe at power-on. This program scans the
"Flexlm license manager" are of the registry and launches an
instance of lmgrd.exe for each service name it finds.
This feature does not work initially because "Flexlm License
Manager" is set to %Xilinx%\bin\nt\lmgrd95.exe instead
of lmgrdw95.exe
To automatically start license manager upon power-up on
Windows 95:
1. Copy flexlm.cpl and lmgr325c.dll to \windows\system
2. Open up a Flexlm license manager control panel, and set
the paths for lmgrd.exe, license.dat, and debug.log. Make
sure you check "Start Server at Power-up" box.
3. Run regedit. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices.
4. Set FLEXlm License Manager from %XILINX%\bin\nt\lmgrd95.exe
... to %XILINX%\bin\nt\lmgrdw95.exe ...
5. Save it, Reboot the PC, and now it will launch lmgrdw95.exe.
